Fenimore Chamber Orchestra joins forces with the electrifying Big Galut(e) Klezmer Band and celebrated clarinetist Robin Seletsky for an afternoon of music shaped by fire, longing, celebration, and deep human expression.
Drawing on the rich traditions of klezmer alongside the color and power of the chamber orchestra, this special collaboration explores music that dances, weeps, sings, and soars. From ecstatic rhythms and virtuosic instrumental flights to moments of haunting lyricism and quiet reflection, the program invites audiences into a sound world where folk tradition and concert music meet in vivid conversation.

The King of Instruments explores the rich dialogue between strings and organ within the resonant acoustics of Christ Church. The program opens with Rakastava by Jean Sibelius, followed by Concerto for Organ, Strings and Timpani, Francis Poulenc’s dramatic and deeply expressive masterpiece, featuring internationally renowned organist Nathaniel Gumbs. The concert concludes with a powerful orchestral arrangement of String Quartet in G minor, Op. 27 by Edvard Grieg, crafted by Maciej Żółtowski. Majestic, intimate, and richly atmospheric, this program celebrates the organ’s commanding voice alongside the warmth and brilliance of chamber orchestra sound.
