Fritz Krakowski
Violin
Fritz V. Krakowski is a dual national of USA and Switzerland and grew up in Davis California. He began violin studies with his mathematician father at the age of 6. After a few months, he became a pupil of Dr. Ward Fenley who was Concertmaster of the Sacramento Symphony.
At the age of 17, he obtained an honorary scholarship to the Juilliard School, where he studied mainly with Dorothy Delay and Joseph Fuchs. During those college years he also performed in masterclasses and studied in Europe with Nathan Milstein, Max Rostal, Yfrah Neaman, and Tibor Varga.
Fritz continued to live in the New York City area after graduating from Juilliard; he won auditions for regular employment with the Brooklyn Philharmonic, the American Ballet Theatre Orchestra, the Opera Orchestra of New York, and the Dance Theatre of Harlem. He performed frequently with the American Symphony Orchestra, and traveled to perform on classical and baroque violin with many orchestras including the Jacksonville (Fl) Symphony, the Northeastern PA Philharmonic, the Reading Symphony, the OKMozart Festival Orchestra, the Kennedy Center Chamber Orchestra, the Drottningholm Opera Orchestra (Sweden), the Kennedy Center Chamber Orchestra, and the Hannover Band.
Fritz won an audition to play Concertmaster for Radio City’s “Spring Spectacular” production in 2015 and has had several Broadway show contracts. He is currently a member of The Orchestra of St. Luke's and the Glimmerglass Opera Orchestra. Fritz also continues to appear in recital and chamber music concerts in New York City, California, and Switzerland, and frequently performs with the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, the Stamford Symphony, and others.
